Why is there a Stadium District Scholarship Fund?
In 2017 the Stadium District Scholarship Fund LLC was established by Tyler Merkeley of Southwest DC. Tyler has been living and investing in the community for over 10 years, both through real estate and through various community initiatives to strengthen Southwest for all residents.
The Stadium District Scholarship fund was envisioned as part of a Joint Agreement between Mr. Merkeley and DBT Development Group LLC in an effort to give back to the Southwest Community and ensure educational opportunities to those in the community.
The initial $100,000 in funds were contributed by Mr. Merkeley upon the sale of a property to DBT Development Group, LLC.
The contributions demonstrate Mr. Merkeley and DBT Development Group’s long-term commitment to the educational advancement of ANC SMD 6D08 residents.
The first scholarships were awarded in 2018. The goal is to continue to award new scholarships to support the educational advancement of residents on an annual basis
